Happy February!
Wow—
February is going to be a busy month!
First of all, it’s Black History Month; and I want to post mixes similar to last month’s King Mix. Also, two of my sons (born 15 years apart) celebrate their birthdays on the sixth; our wedding anniversary is the tenth; and the Cupid’s Hunt Podcast Collaboration Event coincides with Valentine’s Day four days later. Add the work week deadlines; the new floor we’re putting down; new goats born on the farm (first in five years) and the repairs to the dairy that their arrival has made a priority, February feels like a short month that needs to be longer.
Although my music favorites lean toward Detroit and Memphis, my mother’s daughter in me wants to add a little gospel and historical speeches; the mom in me wants to post a few favorites of the birthday boys; and the bride in me remembers what made our wedding reception rock. I had two more mixes in mind for Cupid’s Hunt; but if I have to time to post only one of them, it will be “First Dance”, a mix of my first dances and the first dances of some of my friends.
So, while the polyurethane dries on my bedroom floor, and with my favorites on TNT playing in the background; hubby and the kids sleeping; and various pets and livestock making their night noises outside; the night shift-er in me is wide awake, busy around the house and chuckling at the memories attached to all these tunes.
